Can it be July already? Before we launch into a recap of 2025’s first six months, we’ve got to spotlight one of our very favorite festivals, Cocina La Baja. On Saturday, July 12, CLB will again showcase the wide range of Baja’s food and beverage bounty. Seafood is, of course, spotlighted, but offerings are certainly not limited to just shellfish or paella, as at some other events (not that we don’t adore shellfish and paella!). And since CLB is held just south of Ensenada, the craft beer capital of Baja, microbreweries are very well represented, along with the ubiquitous regional wineries. Add a liberal dash of cooking demos by top chefs and educational displays by Baja seafood producers, all on the lovely, expansive seaside patio of the Estero Beach Hotel and Resort, and you’ll understand why we hold this this event in high esteem.
